Van Aert firma il bis a Cordoba: podio tricolore con Romele nella tappa di oggi della Vuelta

Wout van Aert ha conquistato la quindicesima tappa della Vuelta a España, imponendosi nella volata ristretta al termine dei 110,2 chilometri tra Palma del Río e Córdoba. Il successo conferma la superiorità del Team Visma | Lease a Bike, arrivato alla quinta vittoria nelle prime quindici frazioni della corsa.

Il corridore belga ha attaccato nelle fasi finali e ha poi regolato allo sprint un gruppo composto da cinque atleti. Per van Aert si tratta della 59ª vittoria da professionista. Alle sue spalle si è classificato Alessandro Romele della XDS Astana Team, autore di una prestazione positiva e secondo al traguardo. Il terzo posto è andato al belga Thibau Nys della Lidl-Trek.

Il Belgio ha completato una giornata di rilievo con il quarto posto di Ramses Debruyne, portacolori della Alpecin – Premier Tech. Quinta posizione per il norvegese Andreas Leknessund della Uno-X Mobility. Alessandro Covi ha vinto la volata del gruppo inseguitore, chiudendo sesto a 58 secondi dal vincitore, davanti al francese Bastien Tronchon della Groupama – FDJ United.

La top 10 è stata completata dall’eritreo Henok Mulubrhan, ottavo con la XDS Astana Team, dallo svizzero Stefan Küng, nono con la Tudor Pro Cycling Team, e dal portoghese Ivo Oliveira, decimo con la UAE Team Emirates-XRG.
