Leknessund entra nella fuga di giornata già nelle prime fasi della corsa e resta all’attacco fino al momento decisivo. A 7,2 chilometri dall’arrivo, il corridore norvegese accelera nuovamente, stacca i compagni di fuga e raggiunge da solo il traguardo.

Il secondo posto va al compagno di squadra Tobias Halland Johannessen, distanziato di 34 secondi. Wout van Aert completa il podio a 47 secondi dal vincitore, precedendo Jakob Omrzel, quarto con un ritardo di 58 secondi.
